Washington residents planning to mail in voter registration in time for the Feb. 14 special election need to get their registration postmarked before the Jan. 16 deadline, when post offices will close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Residents can also register or update their addresses online at www.myvote.wa.gov. Online registration will still be available on the Jan. 16 deadline, even though it’s a holiday, according to an email alert from the Washington Secretary of State’s office.

The deadline to register in person for the special election is Feb. 6. County elections department information can be found at www.sos.wa.gov/elections/auditors.aspx.
