Make.Shift, Allied Arts and Varvid featured in August art walk

Make.Shift Art Space, Allied Arts of Whatcom County and Varvid will be featured during the Aug. 3 Downtown Art Walk, presented from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. by the Downtown Bellingham Partnership.

The monthly art walks feature exhibits from local artists in a variety of venues in downtown Bellingham.

“Strange Suburbia,” is the featured exhibit at Make.Shift Art Space, a DIY music and arts venue. The exhibit, created by local artist Andrea Heimer, features work inspired by its creator’s experiences with dark, hidden and weird sides of suburban life.

Allied Arts of Whatcom County features “Touchy Feely,” an exhibit with tactile works in a variety of media that have various textures and bright colors. The exhibit features the work of Candy Meachum, Jo Baner and Elaine Wheless.

Varvid, a local digital media company, hosts musical artist Havilah along with local artist Patricia Morse’s show “Changing Harvest,” which features coiled and hand-built stoneware.
