Microsoft vice president to speak at WWU business forum

Microsoft Vice President Julie Larson-Green will be the keynote speaker at the 12th annual Western Washington University Bellingham Business Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

The event begins at noon (doors open at 11:30 a.m.) in the ballroom of the Hotel Bellwether. The keynote address will begin at 12:45 p.m.

Larson-Green oversees development of Microsoft’s Windows operating system. She has led the development team for the system’s latest version, Windows 8, which is set to be released in late October.

Larson-Green is a Whatcom County native and graduated from WWU with a degree in business administration. She has also received a master’s in software engineering from Seattle University.

Table sponsorships are available at the $1,000 (Mount Challenger level), $2,000 (Mount Shuksan) and $3,000 (Mount Baker).

All proceeds from the event support student scholarships.

Tables at the forum are in rounds of 10, and all sponsorship levels include lunch.  Sponsors fill nine seats and WWU fills the 10th seat with a university representative. Individual tickets are available for $100 each.
