The state Employment Security Department released a WARN announcement that 92 employees will be laid off from Mount Baker Vapor, a Lynden-based manufacturer of electronic cigarettes and related products.
WARN stands for Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. The notices are part of a labor law that required employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60-day notification of plant closings and mass layoffs.
Mount Baker Vapor announced in June plans to move the business to Mesa, Arizona, because of potential state regulations.
The Bellingham Business Journal also covered legislative and regulatory changes in the industry in April.
