Naked Clothing to host grand opening of Bellingham store

Naked Clothing, a natural fiber clothing retailer that took over the former location of Merch Bot in downtown Bellingham, is hosting a grand opening on Friday, Nov. 29, Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 1.

The grand opening will feature live music, refreshments and store discounts on merchandise. Naked Clothing opened the store, located at 126 W. Holly St., on Oct. 31.

The company, co-owned by Amy Martin and Jeff Kraus, was first created in 1994, selling merchandise online and at various West Coast festivals and fairs.

Martin and Kraus ran a test version of their brick-and-mortar retail shop next door to Boundary Bay Brewery on Railroad Avenue, during the Bellingham Farmers Market over the summer. In addition to selling clothing, Kraus operates a screenprinting service, although that will not be a part of the new retail location.

The grand opening will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30; and from 11 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 1.
