Kulshan Community Land Trust is hosting a native plant sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, at the home of its founding trustee Bill Sterling, 2306 North Shore Road.
A portion of the plant sales will benefit KulshanCLT’s home-ownership programs.
The sale will include a wide variety of native-grown trees, shrubs and plants. Sterling will also be available to answer questions and make plant recommendations.
Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own bags, and to carpool or take alternative transportation since parking is limited.
The event is open to all members of the community, with special discounts available for KulshanCLT homeowners and members.
The nonprofit community development organization holds land in trust for permanently affordable home ownership and other community needs, including affordable access to land for farming. It also offers financial and educational services to people of limited means.
It has partnered with 125 people who have purchases homes throughout Whatcom County since 2002. As of February 2012, there are 101 properties in the trust, including 24 resales.
