Village Books has made some last-minute additions to its January events schedule, including a Thursday, Jan. 12 visit from Sarah van Gelder, executive editor of Yes! Magazine and author of the recent book, “This Changes Everything: Occupy Wall Street and the 99% Movement.”
Gelder will read from and discuss her book at 7 p.m. in the Readings Gallery and Village Books, located at 1200 11th St. in Fairhaven.
Renowned San Francisco-based Morrocan chef and author Mourad Lahlou will be at the Book Fare Cafe on the top floor of the bookstore from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tickets cost $10 and must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance at the bookstore or at BrownPaperTickets.com.
Lahlou will discuss his recent cookbook, “Mourad: New Moroccan,” and Book Fare Cafe owner Charles Claassen will prepare appetizers based on Lahlou’s recipes.
