The Whatcom County Library System appointed Lori Jump to the library board of trustees. Jump took over for retiring board chair Deb Lambert in December 2014. Her term runs through Jan. 31, 2019.
Jump co-owns Media Migration Services, which specializes in relocating data centers.
“We look forward to Lori’s energy and fresh insights, especially around marketing the library to get the word out about services,” library system executive director Christine Perkins said in a press release.
The five-member volunteer library board responsible for budget oversight and library system policy.
Jump said her interest in libraries started when she was a child in Ellensburg, Washington.
“I recall going to our local library as a youngster in Ellensburg and being able to check out books on anything of interest,” Jump said in the release. “Now, as a mother, I have enjoyed story times, teen/adult book clubs, author presentations, 3D printing classes, flute concerts, plus weekly visits to many of the WCLS libraries.”
