CJ Seitz is taking over as interim director of Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center.
She’s taking over for Jennifer Shelton, who is moving to Seattle, according to a press release. Shelton spent five years as director of the center and directed the Small Business Development Center at Edmonds Community College for five years before that.
Seitz worked at Western’s Small Business Development Center as a business advisor from 2005 to 2009. After that, she directed the Northwest Region of the Washington State Employment Security Department, which includes Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties.
“We’re sorry to see Jennifer go, and wish her the very best. She did a fabulous job and laid a great foundation for success,” said Steve Swan, Western’s vice president for university relations and community development, in the press release. “At the same time, we couldn’t be more pleased to have CJ back.”
Another former Small Business Development Center employee recently returned. Debra Lee, who worked at the center in 2007, is back as a certified business counselor.
In the last several years, Lee worked as a small business counselor throughout Washington state as part of grant-funded projects for the College of Business and Economics at Western.
Lee replaced Kevin Hoult, who accepted a business counselor position at the Small Business Development Center’s Port Angeles office.
