The owner of a Mexican restaurant in Bellingham has been selected by the Sudden Valley Community Association to replace the former Bob’s Burgers and Brew that once served residents of the private community on the shores of Lake Whatcom.

Marin Tirado, who owns the El Agave Mexican Restaurant on Samish Way, plans to renovate the 6,100-square-foot space and open by summer. Tirado will handle the restaurant and nearby cafe, as well as the facility’s catering services.

Eric Larson and Troy Muljat of The Muljat Group in Bellingham were hired by the Sudden Valley association to find a new operator for the restaurant space.
