Whatcom Community College’s Community and Continuing Education Program is offering a new grant-writing course that encourages students to bring actual projects in progress to work through in class.
“Grant Writing: Level II: Write a Grant!” will cover topics including how to complete a grant application, how to craft a compelling narrative in a grant proposal and how to create a budget. Class organizers said interested students should have already taken “Grant Writing: Level I,”or have a basic knowledge of the grant-writing process. Due to limited class size, participants are encouraged to register early.
The four-class series costs $129. Classes are held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays from Nov. 1 to Nov. 22 on WCC’s campus in Room 201C of the college’s Foundation Building.
Instructor Saralee Sky has more than 14 years of grant-writing experience. She encourages students to bring a real project idea and supporting documentation to the first class, as well as a laptop or tablet, if possible.
