Nonprofit discussion to focus on wellness, workplace CSAs

The Whatcom Council of Nonprofits will host a brown-bag discussion on workplace wellness for nonprofit organizations and employees from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at the offices of the Whatcom Community Foundation, 119 Grand Ave., Suite A, in downtown Bellingham.

Mark Peterson, sustainable business manager at Sustainable Connections in Bellingham, will lead the discussion, which will focus on workplace CSA (community-supported agriculture) programs and their role within workplace wellness. CSA programs allow participants to pledge money to a local farm, then receive shares of produce and other items during harvest season.

Such programs are becoming more popular within companies and organizations implementing workplace wellness initiatives, according to the Whatcom Council of Nonprofits, a program of the Whatcom Community Foundation.
