Bellingham International Airport will have another nonstop destination for travelers on July 1, when Allegiant Air begins offering direct flights to Long Beach, Calif.
“In 2004, we began serving the greater Bellingham and Southern British Columbia communities by offering nonstop flights to Las Vegas,” Allegiant Air President Andrew C. Levy said. “Since then, we have expanded the travel options to seven world-class leisure destinations.”
Service to Long Beach will be the seventh nonstop destination offered by Allegiant for travelers leaving Bellingham. The airline also flies nonstop to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Phoenix-Mesa, Ariz., San Diego and San Francisco-Oakland.
“Our community really enjoys all of the nonstop destinations Allegiant provides from Bellingham,” said Jim Jorgensen, Port of Bellingham Commission president. “Allegiant is a great community partner and an excellent addition to our local economy.”
The MD-80 series jet aircrafts Allegiant uses for the flights have a seating capacity of 150 and will operate three times weekly with service Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
To kick off its addition, Allegiant is offering discounted rates on flights between Bellingham and Long Beach that are purchased by June 2.
