Our staff has received several calls today about a company, called American Registry, which is apparently contacting local firms listed in the 2013 edition of our Book of Lists and trying to sell them expensive wall plaques under the impression they have won a special award or recognition from The Bellingham Business Journal.

In its emails, the company does state that they are not affiliated with the BBJ or Sound Publishing Inc., our owner and publisher. But there still seems to be some confusion among the firms being contacted.

The Bellingham Business Journal is in no way connected to this company. We will not solicit you in order to sell you a plaque.

If you receive such an email, we encourage you to delete it from your inbox or place it in your spam folder.
