April and Chris Baetz, along with Chris’ brother Sean Baetz, have purchased the Old Fairhaven Wines shop.
The three will continue running the well-known local shop, located at 1106 Harris Ave. in Finnegan’s Alley Atrium in the Historic Fairhaven District.
April Baetz will be the store’s new manager. Former owner Gary Hoffman will remain as a consultant to the store for the next 18 months.
Along with local and international wines, the shop will offer picnic baskets, wine gift items, glassware, bottle openers, home decor and wine-barrel furniture. The Baetzs plan to also sell wine charms by artist Allison Amy, Sun Spun trivets and Holmquist nuts from Lynden, along with handmade natural stone jewelry by Gypsy Jewelry, owned by Chris and Sean Baetz’s mother.
They will eventually offer selections of unique and hard-to-find craft beers, as well.
“We’re strong on local products,” said Chris Baetz, in an April 6 press release. “The community is important to us, and we love that Fairhaven is a natural home for locally owned businesses.”
A grand opening celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6.
