Twenty teams in the Opportunity Council’s Aug. 3 “Golf FORE Good” Tournament at Shuksan Golf Course raised more than $14,000 to help children in the agency’s early-learning programs.
A team from S&S Concrete took first place in the scramble-format tournament. The winning team featured Dan Larsen, Jason Osborn, Landon Tieri and Ethan Potts.
Bellingham’s Unity Insurance Group was the tournament’s title sponsor. The Unity Group’s team took third place in the tournament.
”The ‘Golf FORE Good’ tournament is one of my favorite events of the year,” said Sheldon Satterthwaite of Unity Insurance Group, in a press release. “It is a fun, well-run event that helps support important services in our community. Unity is proud to be a sponsor of this event.”
More than 30 door prizes were awarded, along with raffle items such as a Denver golf trip from Frontier Airlines and a backyard patio set from DeWaard and Bode.
Other winners included: Second-place tournament team members Steve Swank, Steve Eggert, Gary Bring and Dean Carpenter; longest drive winners Landon Tieri and Paula McCandlis (Superfeet); closest to the pin awards went to Grant Bonsen and Joanne Johnson (NPIP); putting contest winners were Steve Jones and Joanne Johnson (Regence Blue Shield).
