Our Treehouse, a Bellingham-based non-profit that provides support and resources to grieving children and their families, has announced the selection of Colleen Haggerty as its new executive director.

Haggerty’s experience includes working at various nonprofits including those serving developmentally disabled adults, people with AIDS, and at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington. She teaches leadership seminars at the Continuing Education department at Whatcom Community College. She is also a volunteer at Whatcom Hospice.

Our Treehouse has been offering support groups in Whatcom County to children, teens and their families since 2008. The program is modeled after The Dougy Center, the nationally acclaimed grief support program in Portland, Oregon.
