Trans-Ocean Products Inc. announced that Murry R. Park has been named vice president and general manager at the company.
In his new position, Park will be responsible for all company operations, including the surimi seafood processing facility located in Bellingham, where Trans-Ocean produces its Crab Classic brand.
Park has held senior level positions in several different industries, including consumer electronics, industrial electronics, industrial equipment and commercial seafood processing.
Since 2010, he has worked at Westward Seafoods, a sister company of Trans-Ocean, first as vice president and general manager of Westward’s facility in Kodiak, Alaska, and then as strategic planning manager in the company’s corporate office in Seattle.
“We’re extremely pleased to have Murry take on this important position at Trans-Ocean,” said Yasuaki Kawakita, president at Trans-Ocean, in a press release. “His expertise in manufacturing will be a critical factor in keeping Trans-Ocean at the forefront of innovation in the surimi seafood industry.”
Prior to his tenure at Westward Seafoods, Park’s experience included positions at Rothenbuhler Engineering of Sedro-Woolley, Wagstaff Inc. of Spokane, and Key Tronic Corp., also in Spokane.
From 2004 to 2010, he also operated his own business, MRP One Consulting, which focused on helping companies improve in the areas of product design, productivity and operating efficiency.
Park is a graduate of Western Washington University.
He lives with his family in Mount Vernon.
