Dennis Boe has joined Skagit State Bank as vice president and residential real-estate manager. Boe will be based at the bank’s home loan center in Burlington. He will oversee Skagit State Bank’s home and construction financing in Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties.

Michael LaRocque has been named general manager of Bellingham Marine’s Northeast Division. LaRocque will be responsible for day to day operations including project administration, detailed scheduling of manufacture and construction activities and budgeting. He has more than 20 years of experience in construction and civil engineering. Prior to this recent appointment, LaRocque was a senior project manager and operations manager for Bellingham Marine.

Sean Lyons, a security engineer at 3D Corp. in Bellingham, has earned certification as an “ethical hacker” from the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants. The Certified Ethical Hacker designation indicates Lyons has expertise in penetrating networks or computer systems using the same methods and techniques as a hacker.

Erika McPhee-Shaw has been hired as director of Western Washington University’s Shannon Point Marine Center. McPhee-Shaw, who will start her new position on June 15,  succeeds the longtime director of the center, Steve Sulkin, who recently retired. McPhee-Shaw is an associate professor at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and San Jose State University, where she has worked since 2004. She has a bachelor’s degree in physics from Dartmouth College and a doctorate in oceanography from the University of Washington.

Lorraine Morris has been hired as Bank of the Pacific’s new Ferndale branch manager. Morris brings 10 years of lending experience to the bank. She most recently served as a relationship manager and loan officer at Northwest Farm Credit and also worked as an appraisal service representative.

Lori Taylor of Neighborhood Mortgage in Bellingham is celebrating her 15th year in the mortgage lending industry. Taylor has been with Neighborhood Mortgage since February 2010. She currently serves as a licensed mortgage adviser. Taylor was born in Juneau, Alaska, and moved to Bellingham in 1982. She is a graduate of Sehome High School and Washington State University.
