Ed Turrell was going to college and working part time when he heard about an opening at Diehl Ford in 1972. The rest, he said, is history.
Turrell retired from Diehl Ford on March 31 after 42 years with the company. He started out washing vehicles and eventually worked his way up to service manager, his job for the last 30 years.
During his career, Turrell worked for three generations of the Diehl family, and saw computers change the industry, he said.
In retirement, Turrell plans to spend more time with his grandkids and more time playing golf. His son Jason Turrell took over as service manager at Diehl Ford on April 1.
