It’s time to dust off your tux, unwrap that gown from its dry cleaning bag and get ready for your walk down the red carpet! Bellingham’s premier movie awards party makes its third appearance with the festivities happening again this year at Pickford Film Center at 1318 Bay Street in Bellingham.
The formal event begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26. In addition to a strut on the red carpet, guests will enjoy photo opportunities, door prizes, food catered by Ciao Thyme and a live broadcast of the 84th Academy Awards from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
Tickets are now available through www.pickfordevents.com or at the door the night of the event. Prices range from $40 for member admission tickets to $125 for VIP non- member passes. VIPs will enjoy in-seat catered service in the intimate, 75-seat smaller theater, which will include an open bar, swag bag and other special perks. General admission ticket holders receive one free non-alcoholic beverage and appetizers. A cash bar will be available to all attendees in the lobby.
New this year is the Silent Auction, which will include film memorabilia and a number of opportunities to take advantage of local experiences and events.
Pickford Film Center is the nonprofit organization that operates Bellingham’s only independent movie venues – Pickford Film Center at 1318 Bay Street and PFC’s Limelight Cinema at 1416 Cornwall Avenue. In addition to screening independent and classic cinema daily, PFC also produces a variety of film festivals and events year round. The new PFC, which opened its doors in April 2011, serves as a community living room, with beer and wine available, ADA accessibility, two screens along with state-of-the-art projection and sound.
