The Port of Bellingham is hosting two public meetings on Wednesday, Oct. 10, to present the current status of the Bellingham airport’s master plan update, answer questions and gather comments.
The meetings will be held in the Squalicum Boathouse at 2600 Harbor Loop in Bellingham. One is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m.; the other will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Both meetings will cover the same material.
Port officials have been in the process of updating the master plan since fall 2011. A public meeting in April covered an expected increase in passenger levels at the airport over the next several decades.
Daniel Zenk, the port’s aviation director, said the upcoming meetings will focus on specific growth that would be part of the master plan proposal, which is expected to be ready for port commission approval by early-to-mid 2013.
More information on the master plan update is on the port’s website.
