Bellingham city officials will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, to review the design of stormwater and shoreline improvements at Bloedel Donovan Park.
The meeting will be held at the Bloedel Donovan Park Multipurpose Room.
Stormwater improvements at the park are funded by Bellingham Public Works and by a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology. Shoreline improvements are partially funded through a state grant from the Recreation and Conservation Office Aquatic Land Enhancement Account, with matching funds provided by Public Works.
The master plan update for the Park was approved by the Bellingham City Council in 2012. It includes improvements to stormwater infiltration and the shoreline, removal of an existing concrete bulkhead, and construction of a new boathouse.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in September 2014. Design documents and more information are available online.
