RE Sources for Sustainable Communities has recognized Charlie Maliszewski, Jean Melious, Alex Ramel and Saul Weisberg, as well as co-recipients Seth Fleetwood, Dan McShane and Sharon Roy as the nonprofit organization’s 2013 Environmental Heroes.
The award winners will be honored at RE Sources’ 10th annual Environmental Heroes Awards Banquet on Sept. 5th at the Lairmont Manor.
Winners were nominated and selected by a panel of community members, RE Sources’ staff and board members for extraordinary efforts in protecting and promoting the health of the Pacific Northwest environment, according to RE Sources.
“The accomplishments of our ‘Heroes’ have made huge impacts in shaping our community’s culture and providing models of sustainability,” said Crina Hoyer, RE Sources’ executive director, in a news release. “Our vision at RE Sources is to see people living satisfying lives in accord with the ecosystem we depend on—generation after generation. We are delighted to highlight the work of our Heroes in advancing that shared vision.”
