Local restaurant business owners who want to participate in the 12th annual “Dine Out for Maple Alley Inn” event on May 1 are invited to sign up with the Opportunity Council by Feb. 24.
The Opportunity Council must receive restaurant commitments by Feb. 24 to be included in the 2012 “Dine Out” promotional materials.
Participating restaurants receive extensive publicity for “Dine Out.”
“Restaurant owners tell us every year this is a win-win situation. This event helps restaurants increase business and restaurant owners say it’s a fun way to help a worthy cause,” said Sheri Emerson, Opportunity Council spokesperson.
During this one-day event, participating local restaurants donate 20 percent of their sales to Maple Alley Inn, an Opportunity Council program that provides hot, nutritious meals for people who are hungry.
The Opportunity Council is a nonprofit, community action agency serving Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties.
