Restaurant openings: Port of Subs, Over Easy, Union Coffee Shop

Port of Subs moved its Sunset Drive location to 1235 W. Bakerview Drive. The new Bakerview location opened on Friday, May 1. The old location was at 115 E. Sunset Drive.

The restaurant moved to take advantage of higher traffic on Bakerview Road, according to a Port of Subs news release. The new restaurant also has a more modern look.

The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce is holding a grand opening and ribbon cutting at the new Port of Subs at 4 p.m. on May 14. Anyone who makes a donation of $5 or more to the Bellingham Food Bank at the restaurant on May 15 or 16 will get a free five-inch sandwich.

Over Easy, a breakfast and lunch restaurant, opened on April 30 at 2430 James St., next to Trader Joe’s in Sunnyland Square. The restaurant is the first Over Easy location outside of Arizona.

The restaurant’s menu includes everything from eggs benedict, to chicken fried steak and caramelized banana pecan french toast, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. It’s open on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and on weekends from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Union Coffee shop opened a second location on April 22 at 1203 N. State St., in the old Koi Cafe location.

The coffee shop’s original location is at 114 W. Magnolia St.
