The Woods Coffee opened its newest location on April 15 in Burlington. The new location at 1779 S. Burlington Boulevard, next to Costco, is the Lynden-based company’s 16th coffee shop and second in Skagit County. It has indoor seating and a drive-thru.
“We have considered this spot off and on for 10 years, so we are excited to finally call this ours,” said Wes Herman, Woods Coffee owner, in a press release. “Being at the commercial hub of Burlington should be a good place for us.”

4/20 ribbon cuttings
The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce is welcoming two marijuana businesses to the chamber with ribbon cuttings on Monday, April 20.
Best Buds, a medical marijuana collective garden at 2518 Meridian St., will have a ribbon cutting celebration from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Green Leaf Recreational, a retail marijuana store at 4220 Meridian St., will have its ribbon cutting event from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Green Leaf is also holding a vendor fair on the same day with with snacks, beverages, raffles and a scavenger hunt. Vendors will include local paraphernalia sellers, glass artists, and local growers and processors.
the Home2Suites by Hilton is having a public grand opening celebration on Thursday, April 16, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The new hotel is off of Northwest Avenue at 805 Home Lane. The hotel, which opened March 16, is the first Home2 Suites by Hilton in Washington and 48th in the world. The Home2 Suites brand is designed for business travelers and extended stay guests.
Also, the hotel announced in a press release that Lighthouse Mission Ministries is its community outreach partner.
Mozza, a family-owned Italian restaurant at 410 W. Bakerview Road, is having a ribbon cutting with samples of appetizers from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29.

Miles Woodworking, a locally-made furniture store at 1305 Cornwall Ave., is having a grand opening on Saturday, May 2 from noon to 8 p.m. with a reception starting at 5 p.m.
