Rod Olson, a nationally recognized coaching expert, speaker and author, is leading a free seminar for local coaches of all ages tonight in Bellingham.
The seminar, “Coaching Tools and Skills for the 21st Century Athlete,” will be presented from 6-8 p.m. at the Lakeway Inn & Conference Center, 714 Lakeway Drive. Beverages and snacks will be provided at the seminar, which will be in the Mt. Baker Room on the first floor. A flier about the seminar is attached, but the RSVP request has been removed and people may show up at the door without an RSVP.
Olson is currently head of coaching development for the Pittsburgh Pirates and their minor-league teams. “Coach O” has coached professionally at ever level of amateur sports, including nearly 20 years as a college football coach with stints at Oklahoma State University and three-time national champion Appalachian State University. He also has taught motivation at USA Olympic Coaching Schools and leadership to U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency personnel.
