Scott Roberts, a Volkswagen Factory trained and certified master technician at Roger Jobs Motors, was recently named the national champion among all Volkswagen Factory Certified Technicians in the United States.
“We are very proud and honored by Scott’s first place finish in this competitive and challenging contest and for him to be recognized by Volkswagen of America as the best technician in the United States,” Byron Sprague, General Manager of Roger Jobs Motors, said in a press release. “Scott is a team player and has been a valued member of our service department team for over 13 years.”
This is the fourth year Volkswagen of America has conducted the Service Qualification Championship contest. Thousands of Volkswagen technicians across the United States participated in the competitions initial phase, in which they took online tests. Next, the top 720 technicians competed in both hands on and written testing. Finally, the top technician from each of the contest’s 12 regions competed at a national contest, held Jan. 18-20 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
In addition to winning the Volkswagen Technician National award, Roberts won a trip for two to Aruba and will also travel to Germany to compete in the Volkswagen International Technician competition later this year.
