Scotty Browns Restaurant opens in Bellingham airport

Bellingham’s second Scotty Browns Restaurant has opened in the new departure gate building at the Bellingham International Airport.

“Bellingham is a great community, and the Bellingham International Airport is one of the most popular independent airports in the Pacific Northwest,” Scott Morison, Scotty Browns USA president, said in a May 14 press release. “When the Port of Bellingham announced that this location was available, our franchisees jumped at it knowing that approximately two-thirds of travelers coming through the airport are Canadian. They felt it was a great extension of our Canadian business and a fantastic opportunity to serve the people of Bellingham in a nontraditional yet upmarket venue.”

Scott Walker, the port commission president, said the restaurant is poised to provide high-quality food to customers.

“This locally owned business already has proven itself in its Barkley District restaurant, and we anticipate they will be just as successful at the airport,” Walker said.

The restaurant will employ about 30 people from the Bellingham area.

Scotty Browns also operates a location on the corner of Barkley Boulevard and Newmarket Street in Bellingham.
