Second Shot Sports, a consignment store that offers gently used sports clothing, shoes and equipment, has opened in downtown Lynden.

The store accepts clothing and gear for basic sports, as well as motocross, biking, golf, hunting, fishing, camping and snow or water sports.

Store owner Shelby Weidkamp said she had the idea for the sports consignment shop after raising three active children who would always outgrow their clothing and equipment. The store allows athletes, as well as parents of athletes, to bring in items they have outgrown or lost interest in, and make a little money by selling them, she said.

Second Shot Sports in located at 510 Front St., between Blossoms and The Print Stop. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 360-746-6631.
