Semiahmoo Resort hires new director of catering and convention services

Semiahmoo Resort on Semiahmoo Spit in Blaine hired Megan Wallstrom as director of catering and convention services. In her new position, Wallstrom will be responsible for and involved with all meetings and social functions, including weddings, according to a press release.

“We are excited to have Megan on board to work her magic to create one-of-a-kind events that truly exceed our guest’s expectations,” said Mark Andrew general manager of Semiahmoo Resort, in a press release. “With her experience in wedding planner, conference organizer, and banquet employee, she is a jack of all trades that knows what it takes on all ends to create a memorable experience.”

Wallstrom has more than ten years of management experience in sales, marketing, and catering. She began her career at Sodexo, a Seattle-based catering and facilities management company. Wallstrom was a catering and retail manager there for five years.

She later worked with Compass Group where she was the director of catering north end for Boeing in Everett. More recently, she was director of catering for Holiday Inn Downtown Everett and the catering sales manager at the Hilton in Bellevue, Wash.

“I am very excited to be joining the team at Semiahmoo Resort,” Wallstrom said in the news release. “I look forward to working at Semiahmoo and assisting guests in creating high-quality events that generate lasting memories.”
