September Downtown Art Walk features photography, abstract work

The September edition of the Downtown Art Walk will be held from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, in downtown Bellingham.

The monthly events, which feature artistic works in a variety of downtown galleries, shops and restaurants, are coordinated by the Downtown Bellingham Partnership.

Featured September exhibits

3 OMS Yoga features DIY artist Megan Carroll, who received her BFA from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and now lives in Bellingham with her family. The theme of her work is food and the threads that tie people together.

The Acu Lounge features photography from local artist Sofia Smith on display alongside samples of Finish artist Tiina Reed’s jewelry.

Binyon Vision Center features a collection of abstract paintings by Chelsea Davidson, who paints her view of the world as seen without her contacts, which she wears to correct extreme nearsightedness.

Cedar Works Gallery welcomes back master carver Gary Starr, who will be sharing information about his latest tattoo design and artwork. Cedar Works will also be displaying the medals, T-shirts and prints for the Bellingham Bay Marathon, designed by artist Neeka Cook.

For a list and map of all September venues, visit the Downtown Visitor Center at 114 W. Magnolia St., Suite 105, or see the Downtown Bellingham Partnership’s website.
