Skagit Bank is consolidating its two locations in downtown Bellingham.
The office at 128 East Holly St., will close, and the space at 1501 Cornwall Ave., which had previously been a drive-through only location, will open an office for walk-in customers.
The remodel on the new office at Cornwall Ave. is expected to be complete sometime in the middle of July, according to Brenton Turner, manager of both branches.
The bank’s branch on Holly Street opened just two years ago, to get the bank a bigger presence downtown.
“It was kind of a strategic move just to get out there a little more,” Turner said. But, they’re already outgrowing the small space.
“Holly Street has definitely served its purpose,” Turner said. After the consolidation is complete, Skagit Bank will have three branches in Whatcom County, another in Bellingham at 1295 East Sunset Drive, plus one in Lynden at 138 Birch Bay Lynden Road.
The storefront at 128 East Holly St., is being brokered by the Muljat Group, and will be available August 1.
