Ski to Sea race needs hundreds of volunteers

Organizers for this year’s Ski to Sea race, to be held May 25, are seeking more than 600 volunteers to help with the event.

They are utilizing a new online system, VolunteerSpot.com, to coordinate volunteer efforts. Volunteers can use the Web portal to check for specific times and dates during which help will be needed.

Volunteer jobs include distributing marketing material, preparing racer packets, assistance with equipment, helping at each race leg, and take down after the event.

All volunteers get a free Ski to Sea T-shirt and lunch. Organizers also plan to host a volunteer appreciation barbecue one week prior to the race, and the first 100 volunteers in attendance will get a free Ski to Sea beer glass.

More information on volunteering opportunities for Ski to Sea can be found online at www.skitosea.com (click on the “Volunteer” tab at the top of the Web page). Volunteers with questions can contact Kellie Zulauf at Volunteer@SkiToSea.com or 360-746-8861.
