Registration is now open for the 2014 Ski to Sea Race, and event directors are encouraging teams to sign up early.

Nearly 100 of the 500 available team slots have already been filled, directors said. The popular multi-sport relay race will take place on Sunday, May 25, in Bellingham and in various locations around Whatcom County.

The event has run continuously since 1973. It is coordinated by the nonprofit Whatcom Events.
