State Rep. Morris to visit Bellingham solar manufacturer

State Rep. Jeff Morris, D-Mount Vernon, will be in Bellingham on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10, to tour the manufacturing facility of itek Energy at 3886 Hammer Drive.

Morris has been an outspoken supporter of Washington’s solar-module manufacturing industry, as well as advocate for the state’s current production incentives for residential and commercial solar customers.

itek has grown to be among the top solar manufacturers in the state, which the company says is due to increased consumer demand around the region.

The firm has added new production capacity to its 19,000-square-foot facility in Bellingham over the past year, and it has leased new space to nearly double its output, according to the company.
