Sterling Real Estate Group heading downtown

By Ryan Wynne

In December, Sterling Real Estate Group will move out of its offices at 2620 N. Harbor Loop Drive and into suite 101 at 2011 Young St., a building which is also home to Whatcom Land Title.

“We wanted to get a little bit closer to downtown,” said Samantha Stoedter, office manager at Sterling. “It’s like a mile move but it’s going to make a world of difference.”

Proximity to Whatcom Land Title is in part what inspired the move, Stoedter said. The new location is surrounded by resources Sterling uses regularly. Having resources within walking distance will also help the business uphold its mission to be green.

“For us it’s just the perfect location,” Sterling owner Phil Dyer said. “It will give us huge visibility.”

Plus, everyone in the industry knows that location, he said.

Although they had considered moving into that building before, this move wasn’t exactly planned. Stoedter said they only decided to move when the space opened up.

The current location has its attractions as well. Dyer said the Port of Bellingham, which owns the building, has been good to Sterling and easy to get along with and that being around boats is nice. But the new unit is more ideally located, he said, and despite being downtown, clients have two large parking lots at their disposal.

Sterling Real Estate Group will begin its week-long move Dec. 1, during which time clients can visit either location.
