The Center for New Media will broadcast the upcoming “scoping” meeting for the Gateway Pacific Terminal at the Seattle Convention Center live for Bellingham-area residents from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13.
The broadcast, which will shown on the website Ustream, will be produced by volunteers and interns from Western Washington University, students from Whatcom Community College and local community members.
“This is a very important issue to Whatcom County residents, and the continued broadcast of the coal scoping testimony has been requested by a number of groups in the county,” said Suzanne Blais, the center’s executive director, in a press release. “We’ve been able to broadcast live from the Bellingham scoping, from the Ferndale scoping, and now we’ll be down in Seattle as well.”
To watch the testimony on Dec. 13, visit the Center for New Media website at www.centerfornewmedia.org, then click on the “Ustream is Live” button at the top of the page.
The Center for New Media is a public-private partnership formed to build community, research new media concepts, create vibrant programming, promote media literacy education and distribute original voices through sustainable and exciting channels, according to the organization.
