Sunnyland Merchants Association to hold first meeting

Business owners in the Sunnyland Neighborhood have formed a new organization called the Sunnyland Merchants Association to promote businesses in the area.

The first general meeting of the group will be held at 5:30 p.m. June 3 at Avenue Bread on James Street and will give business owners a chance to meet each other and sign up for spaces at the Sunnyland Stomp Block Party on July 16.

“We are excited about becoming an official business and neighborhood-boosting organization,” board president Suzanne Blais said in a press release. “There is such diversity in the kind of business that happens in Sunnyland. We’ve got retail, wholesale, service, products, dining, and entertainment. If you’ve got a business in the Sunnyland Neighborhood, we’d love to have your participation in our group.”

The operational board of the group is composed of Blais of Butterfly LIFE Women’ s Fitness, Jennifer Hill of Optometric Physicians NW, Steve Huizenga of Cruisin’ Coffee, Linda Sant of GaPac Credit Union, and Jamie White of Avenue Bread.
