Superfeet Worldwide Inc. plans to introduce a new wool insole at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market trade show from Aug. 2-5 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
According to the Ferndale-based company, the release of the insole—called merinoGREY—follows the introduction of its woolyWHITE insole in 2011, which is now called merinoWHITE. Both insoles use Merino wool.
The company’s product manager, Dan Wakeland, said in a press release that Merino wool has a “crimped fiber structure that traps large quantities of air, reducing heat conduction and creating great insulation from both heat and cold.”
Brad Perry, Superfeet’s vice president of sales, said the new product should help the company appeal to untapped segments of the outdoor market.
