Product developers have a chance to learn more about “Lean principles,” a production term coined to describe practices that focus on reducing waste and increasing end value for customers.
Paul Akers and Jon Lussier of Bellingham-based FastCap LLC will give a presentation titled, “Lean: FastCap Style,” at a July 20 luncheon hosted by the Technology Alliance Group of Northwest Washington.
Akers, the founder and president of FastCap, will discuss his “2-Second Lean Principle,” addressing the rationale, methods and outcomes of the production method. Participants will receive a free Lean book and DVD.
FastCap is an international product development company with more than 2,000 distributors worldwide. The firm launches about 20 new products each year. Akers founded the multi-million dollar company in his garage 13 years ago.
Lussier is the firm’s general manger.
The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at NorthWood Hall, 3240 Northwest Ave. in Bellingham. Registration closes July 18.
