Templeton leaves Boys & Girls Clubs after 12 years as executive

Lynn Templeton is stepping down as executive director and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County after 12 years on the job that saw the number of children served by the nonprofit nearly double.

Templeton is moving into a new position as chief professional officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga in Napa County, Calif.

The nonprofit executive spent the past four decades working with Boys & Girls Clubs in Washington state.

“Lynn’s term has been one of extraordinary progress in serving and supporting the kids throughout Whatcom County,” said Bill Unrein, president of the nonprofit’s corporate board, in a press release. “His vision and leadership are reflected in everything from increased graduation rates and community partnerships to the incredible achievement of the building the new Bellingham and Ferndale clubs.”

Unrein said the organization has begun a nationwide search for Templeton’s successor.
