Test tech gifts at the Bellingham Public Library, Dec. 7

The Bellingham Public Library is hosting a Tech Gifts Expo from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at its Central Library branch at 210 Central Ave.

The expo offers opportunities for visitors to see and play with the latest electronic devices. Staff from Village Books, Barnes and Noble, TD Curran and Best Buy will bring and demonstrate how to use various gadgets expected to be popular gifts during this year’s holiday shopping season.

“There is a real advantage being able to try out a tablet or eReader before you purchase it,” said Deborah Brewer, a public services librarian, in a news release. ” This is a chance to see a lot of different brands in one place and at one time.”

Tablet and e-reader brands will include Kobo, iPad, Nook, Kindle, Samsung and more. Library staff will also show off the Washington Anytime Library, an e-book service that is free to all area library card holders. The Washington Anytime Library has 19,845 e-books and audiobooks available to check out on any electronic reading device.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Bellingham Public Library at 360-778-7323 or visit www.bellinghampubliclibrary.org.
