The Whatcom Dream, a local nonprofit that promotes financial literacy, will host its annual dinner and fundraiser from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Best Western Lakeway Inn and Conference Center, 714 Lakeway Drive in Bellingham.

Tickets cost $65. Registration can be done online at www.thewhatcomdream.org.

Directors of the nonprofit are hoping to break a fundraising record of $26,000, set last year, in order to expand their financial-literacy training programs. In 2013, 84 people completed financial-training classes offered by the Whatcom Dream.
