Sustainable Connections hosts the 10th annual Imagine This!: Home and Landscape Tour and Free Green-Living Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 23-24.
Tickets are available for $12 at Village Books, Community Food Co-op store, the RE Store, Bakerview Nursery and Garden Spot Nursery.
A ticket includes access to all tour stops, along with a tour map and resource guide with information on products and services featured by local design enthusiasts.
This year’s tour features green building and smart growth practices with examples of affordable energy-efficiency retrofits, residential and multi-residential solar panel installations, organic and edible landscapes, a huge green roof, innovative use of eco-friendly building materials, as well as green-living stories including cost savings from energy-efficiency upgrades and sustainable design.
The 10 tour stops include a near net-zero energy Kulshan Community Land Trust home that is certified LEED platinum, an ecoscape oasis garden, a solar array in downtown Bellingham and others.
New this year is a free green-living expo on the roof of Lincoln Square Apartments at 409 York St. in Bellingham.
The tour will also offer audio tours of select sites. Downloadable onto a smartphone, the short audio segments will highlight aspects of the home from the homeowner’s or builder’s perspective.
Tickets include access to all tour stops and a detailed tour map and resource guide all about the products and services featured by local design enthusiasts.
