On Saturday, Oct. 8 from 12 to 6 p.m., Fairhaven Toy Garden will celebrate Neighborhood Toy Store Day with games, prizes, sales, crafts and giveaways. The store is at 1147 11th St., in Fairhaven
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the store is hosting a workshop on skill toys, which are toys for older children and adults.
The national event is to remind consumers about the importance of independent toy stores and the value of shopping within their community, according to a press release.
“We feel we can give great service because we get to know our customers personally and can tailor our product selections to their preferences,” said Toy Garden owner, Robin Bigelow, in the press release.
More than 600 independent toy retailers across the country participate in Neighborhood Toy Store Day.
