Two Bellingham toy stores are celebrating the sixth annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day on Saturday, Nov. 14. The American Specialty Toy Retailing Association created the nationwide event to promote local shopping and independent retailers.
“Local toy stores offer a long list of benefits to consumers, from selections designed to serve specific communities to customer service that makes the shopping experience a pleasant one,” said Kimberly Mosley, president of the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association, in a press release.
Launching Success Learning Store, at 133 Prince Ave., just off Meridian Street in Bellingham, will donate five percent of profits for the day to Lydia Place, a nonprofit housing agency. The store will also offer a scavenger hunt, face painting, a Lego building contest and other activities.
Fairhaven Toy Garden, at 1147 11th St., will have prizes and giveaways, as well as face painting, crafts games and other activities.
