Training seminar seeks to help workplace communication

Manpower, a workforce recruiting and training firm with local offices in Bellingham and Burlington, is hosting a free seminar for professionals seeking to become better communicators.

The event, titled “Communication Essentials,” will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Mount Baker Theatre Encore Room, 104 N. Commercial St. in downtown Bellingham.

It will be led by Nicole Forward, a training manager for Vigilant, who specializes in training, mediation and conflict management. Forward will cover techniques to help attendees identify and overcome barriers to workplace communication, deliver clear messages and ask better questions, understand their own communication skills and discover specific areas for improvement.

Space for the seminar is limited, and those interested are asked to RSVP to lisa.sohni@manpower.com no later than Nov. 1.

Complimentary coffee, tea and snacks will be provided.
