Bellingham trampoline facility opens Monday

By Monday, Dec. 22, a Bellingham warehouse will be nearly covered in trampolines, foam, and padding. That’s the planned opening date for Trampoline Zone, an 18,000-square-foot trampoline facility at 4201 Meridian St., behind the Pro Golf Discount store.

Owner Rajiv Malhan said the facility will have about 75 trampolines total. Trampolines are partitioned into several separate areas of the warehouse, including a section for trampoline dodgeball, a trampoline basketball area, a general jumping area, and an area with foam pits and a rope ladder.

An hour of jumping will cost $8 or $9 on weekdays and $11 on weekends. Children less than 46-inches tall will get a cheaper price.

Malhan said one hour is about as much time as most people can handle in a trampoline park.

“In one hour most people are totally exhausted,” he said. “Little kids, they’re not, but people in their 30s and 40s, that’s all they can take.”

Malhan has opened trampoline facilities in Yakima, Kennewick, Salem, Oregon and Eugene, Oregon. Malhan said Trampoline Zone is similar to the other facilities in size.

The facility will employ about 20 people, Malhan said.
